His reaction is unacceptable, but his confusion is justified. If you aren't clear about what you want up front, you don't get to be pissy when someone doesn't meet your specific requirements. You went in knowing apps are more commonly used for sex (there are apps for people interested in romance and companionship, but you apparently aren't using those)... you didn't say you weren't looking for a physical relationship... you went to his house knowing what he was suggesting... you got on his bed and still hadn't said anything. Everyone is entitled to change their mind and stop the situation and the other person needs to respect that, but it's unreasonable to expect them to not want an explanation after you gave them all the green lights. It's a jarring rejection in a slightly vulnerable moment. Unfortunately a lot of people take things like that personally and lash out.
