This story is about a trans person who started life born female. Their birth name was Kelley. Kelley grew up in a chaotic household with two parents originally, although they seemed to have argued and split up. In the episode where Kelley is younger and receives the camera as a gift, we hear the parents arguing outside the room and the mother talking about the father's other woman. The father also implies that Kelley was not a planned pregnancy and he did not want a child. This episode shows that Kelley's mother is traumatized by that relationship but also resentful towards Kelley because the mother wanted a daughter to do girly things with but Kelley does not identify as female. Kelley is trying to work around his mother's hurtful conversation and even let's his mother paint his toenails as a token of friendship even though he is struggling with the gender dysphoria related to this.
