It's true though... lots of people with social anxiety don't like being forced to go out and do social things. They can't say no cuz of that social anxiety or many times are told "you'll be fine" when inside they are being hit with panic attacks. Trying to change her back to what she was IS incredibly selfish. Instead he should slowly open her up to just finding a small group of trusted and valued friends, can talk to strangers if she has to, but don't force her to speak up and out if it's too much.
