The author make the Schlepper family look completely worthless. Or is it normal for a matriarch to so blatantly speak a provable lie about that bad tea? and what about the main character? If I were in his place, I would storm out of that party and consider a divorce. That viscous wife might be the closest the Schleppers have to a redeemable member, though.
